NASA climate scientist Peter Kalmus and wildlife biologist Allan Chornack took the internet by storm last week when they protested about climate crisis and how scientists are being ignored. Over 1000+ scientists all over the world also joined this protest to stop the use of fossil fuels following the IPCC report on climate change.
Just last week, tropical depression Agaton has wrecked several localities in Samar, Leyte, and other parts of Visayas in the Philippines.
The Earth is warming up at a much faster rate. It has produced serious effects for our plants, animals, and communities. We experience extreme drought and super typhoons more frequently. These climate events devastate thousands of homes and livelihood.
The urgency for climate action grows stronger everyday as the Earth becomes more inhospitable. And this year, the world’s largest environmental movement calls everyone to invest in our planet. Earth Day 2022: Invest in Our Planet advocates for recognizing the collective responsibility to advance to better solutions for our worsening climate. Earth Day 2022: Invest in Our Planet .

Earth Day 2022: Invest in Our Planet
Individuals like you and me can try our best to live sustainably. Reducing our waste and carbon footprint, buying locally, joining advocacies, and raising awareness are some actions that we can do. Earth Day 2022 also pushes us to hold corporations and governments accountable as responsible voters and consumers. Government, businesses, and investors can make big steps that will most likely drive significant changes for a more sustainable system.

We are already short on time and our scientists are right. Like domino effect, our sea levels will rise, our wildlife and marine life will disappear, diseases will increase and go rampant, and our food supply will be scarce. So, we must act now. “Act boldly, innovate broadly, and implement equitably”. Together, we must invest in our planet, invest in our future.
