The field team continues to work tirelessly to capture a binturong, despite the recent rains. They are now using a new fruit mixture and we hope this will be the winning combination that will allow us to launch our radio-tracking study very soon 🍌🍍 Our nocturnal observation outings are also continuing and have yielded very promising results! On several occasions, we spotted a binturong and civets 👀
And speaking of observing binturongs, we have also recently spotted different individuals! We captured photos and videos of them at various sites equipped with camera traps, showing various behaviors of binturongs in the wild.
Finally, we purchased additional equipment to help the field team achieve our goals. Thanks to your support, the field team is now equipped with new night vision binoculars, red-light headlamps, and powerful flashlights. We also installed new Browning camera traps sponsored by the French-speaking Association of Zoo Keepers (Thanks @afsanimalier). All this new equipment will contribute to the sustainability and steady progress of the BSP 💚
